Matt has over 20 years’ experience in gold and diamond operations and 10 years in consulting. He has focused extensively on raising the performance of businesses over 15 years across a number of industries through lean thinking, business process optimisation and the application of modern management techniques. During his career he was privileged to design and embed the improvement journey for De Beers, and supported companies like Anglo American, De Beers Marine, Debswana, Nando’s, Sasol, Willis Towers Watson, PetroSA, McLaren Racing and a number of others on their excellence journeys.

His speciality areas are Operations Management and Business Excellence, Performance measurement and management, lean thinking and other adjacent improvement methodologies, design, customisation and deployment of improvement strategies and journeys and functional integration across organisations and departments to create cultures of excellence. He joins Minopex as a Senior Vice President of Operations looking after the Southern Region (Lesotho, Botswana and Namibia) as well as the Advisory team.

Matt is a Metallurgist and holds a MSc in Lean Operations through Cardiff University.
