PARTNERSHIPS TO BE PROUD OF
SUSTAINABILITY AT MINOPEX
At Minopex, we are dedicated to promoting the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local suppliers in the areas where we operate. We firmly believe that by collaborating with our partners and stakeholders, we can establish sustainable economic growth that benefits everyone.
ENTERPRISE & SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT
Through our investments and partnerships, we have helped to create jobs, build local capacity, and support economic development. We continually monitor and assess the effectiveness of our Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives to ensure that we are achieving our objectives and making a genuine difference in people's lives.
CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT
At Minopex, we believe that as a responsible business, we have an obligation to give back to the communities where we operate. Our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program is a vital component of our commitment to creating a sustainable future for everyone.
Looking back
Over the past three years, we have teamed up with Raizcorp, a leader in business development support, to support fourteen businesses in five provinces through an intensive Enterprise and Supplier Development program.
Minopex is committed to nurturing community advancement through educational alliances. Partnering with various entities, Minopex's approach extends beyond providing just immediate necessities but rather focusses on sustained development within the communities which it operates.
Six businesses participated in the Supplier Development program, while eight others took part in the Enterprise Development program. One of the businesses successfully completed the Enterprise Development program and graduated to our supply chain, becoming part of our Supplier Development program.
We are proud of the success of our 2022 cohort and the entrepreneurs participating in our Enterprise and Supplier Development programs through Raizcorp. These entrepreneurs have shown dedication to the programs and diligence in applying their learning. The businesses of the entrepreneurs in our program have seen an average turnover growth of over 20% and an overall growth rate of 39% despite challenging market conditions. Moreover, the businesses we have supported have positively contributed to the job market in South Africa by employing fifteen permanent staff members.
Over the past year, we have invested in various initiatives that have had a positive impact on the communities we serve. These initiatives include providing groceries for a food kitchen in Northern Cape Province, handed over a newly constructed community crèche in Phalaborwa-Limpopo, donated tables and chairs to a crèche in the Gravelotte community in Limpopo and delivering 600 stationery packs to various schools in North-West and Mpumalanga Provinces for learners from Gr1 to Gr12.
